Hey guys
so for those of you who have self studied ap bio before i would like to know what your experience was with it. how hard was it, how long did it take you, and how well you did. I just wanna know what you guys thought of it. also how did you guys prepare for those essays?

i would like to know too. what about the prereqs?
im only in 9th grade so. not much bio experience. need to find out how itll fit in with ap psych/micro/macro econ.

I self studied AP bio, it was fine. Got a five. I only used Barron’s since its like really comprehensive and it is good for me, who was like really unfamiliar with all the topics in AP Bio. People says Barrons is overkill, but ah well. Overkill is better than underpreparation.

Basically, I started in January and mug all the way to May. Started to memorise the details in April. But really, it might sound crazy, but it definitely helped. Furthermore, if you read the prep book a lot, it kind of stays in your mind too.

I finished the whole test on time, still had about 5 to 7 minutes to check the answers and every thing. It’s not hard, so long as you studied well and better, memorise, it will be a breeze.

I self-studied for bio as well. Got a 3. Because I already had a lot of knowledge of macrobiology and population dynamics, I focused almost exclusively on microbiology and biological chemistry. My studying mostly consisted of flipping the review book open whenever I felt like it, though.

so do you need cliffs at all if you have barrons?
im thinking that im gonna get for the practice tests in the back… i want all the practice i can get

i think if you have Barrons, you dont need cliffs.
Cliffs is kind of messy in fact.
But for the practice tests, make SURE you already studied if you want to do them. if not, there is no point.
you might want to time yourself when you are ready.
