Calling All Successful HYSCMU(UC)D Transfers!

I have a profound interest in transferring to one of these colleges after my freshman year. I know what you’re thinking,“Why in the hell would this kid want to transfer before he gets to college?” Growing up as a kid, I never had an aspirations to be a football player, but instead I had a different dream: going to an ivy-league type school. I know where you go to college does not define who you are, but I believe if I were able to go to one of these colleges, I would be a much happier person, knowing I was able to live out my dream.

Okay, back to the main topic. What do those who successfully transferred to one of these schools believe was the deciding factor that made admissions officials say,“I want that transfer student, and I want him now!” Also, what track do you think I should be on for this incoming freshman fall? Should I retake the college versions of the APs I took in high school? Should I retake the ACT and SAT IIs and try to get better scores? Also, would I be able to use the ECs that I did in high school and are going to be doing this incoming summer on my application? All help is appreciated.

P.S: Does what school you transfer from have a profound impact on your chances? For example, if I transfer from Cornell vs. Johns Hopkins to an ivy-league college, considering I have the same stats at both colleges, would it be better to transfer from Cornell or would it not make a difference?

Cornell IS an Ivy League college.
