Calling zoosermom

I was so relieved to learn that the ferry that crashed this morning was NOT coming from Staten Island. My heart was in my throat as I searched the article for this information. Now that I think about it, you take a commuter bus, not the ferry.

She takes the express bus into the city from SI

Thank you for thinking of me! I am back to the ferry again because the bus has gotten so expensive. D1 commutes by ferry, though, thank you Sybbie! The one that crashed was private, though. I am not confident that there is real oversight of ferry operations.

Being the only person I “know” who lives on SI, I thought of you immediately, too! Glad to hear you and your D weren’t on the ferry!

Phew, zm is OK! I just finished feeding Mr B and turned on my computer to check the news… How awful.

Thank you so much guys. Really. Your kindness means more than I can say.

I think the ferry in the accident traveled from NJ to Manhattan.

When I read the headline for the story, it didn’t identify the departure spot, and I, too, first thought of you, zoosermom. I’m happy to hear that you’re okay and I hope that proves to be the case for those who were injured this morning.

Just read the story - how awful. So glad you and D1 are ok, zm!

If an angel of death came for zoosermom while PBK (Precious Baby King) was still with us, I’d bet on zooosermom not going!!!

I agree, Dad07! I’m laughing thinking of zm standing up to the angel of death. My money’s on zm!

I told my DD that I met great and caring “friends” on CC. This confirms it! Have any of you tried to “picture” what fellow posters look like? Maybe a new thread!

Great idea for a thread, ECmother! I do have vague mental images of some posters, probably all wrong.

I have to say I had a bad picture this morning of zm. When I saw that a ferry had crashed into lower Manhattan, of course the Staten Island ferry popped into my mind, and then of course zm popped into my mind. As I scanned the article, looking for information on where the ferry had originated, I read about people on stretchers and had a few bad seconds until I saw that it came from NJ.

I do feel guilty feeling relieved to find out that no one I know would have been on the ferry, as if the injured people are less important because they are strangers to me.

07dad has it right! Heaven should only help the angel of death if he tried to take me before the PBK is fully cooked. A boy needs his mom, you know?

LOL, zm! And they continue to be boys well into their fourties, or wait, is it sixties? The angel will be waiting for quite awhile ;)

Since this is technically impossible … unless the bus either grew wings or gills  … I should probably explain …

The express bus most likely goes over the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge into Brooklyn and then over another bridge (or tunnel) into Manhattan.

Manhattan is what New Yorkers call “the city.”

Yes.

ZM, glad you’re OK. My money is on you in that fight as well :D

There is one CC poster who has friends who were injured on the ferry, and she herself takes it sometimes. Too close to home!

Golf father, many express buses from Staten Island actually travel through New Jersey as does mine when I take it.

I spoke to one of PBK’s teachers total and she told me in absolute seriousness that I shouldn’t expect full maturity in a boy until age 23. I’ve been boozing ever since.

zoosermom–at least in my experience, birth to 23 seems to go way, way (too) fast with a son. If I could wish you anything–enjoy the ride and his music!

Italian, short, endowed, robust (or fierce–depending on what’s involved) and feisty and a paralegal or legal sec? Close?
