CALS /Engineering?

Is it easyer to get into CALS than Cornell Engineering as a transfer student? Looking at the 2006 figures, I see that my chances would be better if I applied to Agriculture. Also, if I do get accepted to CALS, how hard would it be to transfer to Engineering?

Well the statistics are somewhat deceiving considering many of those students at CALS were GUARANTEED transfers.

huh??? doctab, how do you know this?

Haha due to tons and tons of research. CALS includes guaranteed transfers in their statistics of accepted transfer students.

You can even call them and ask.

…Applicants… Acceptances
…Men…Women…Total…Men Women Total
Agriculture & Life Sciences …257…242…499…127…127…254
Engineering…229…62…291…69…22…91

Aren’t there “guaranteed transfer” in Engineering as well?

cataxxx, How old are those statistics ?

Isn’t the Cornell acceptance rate around 25% now ?

Well, these are the statistics from the 2006 transfers.

Do you think it’d be easier to get into CAS when your interests/strengths are probably more geared towards Engineering? Trying to “game” the system almost never works.

CALS, not CAS

Whatever, its the same idea. Apply to the school that fits you best.
