anyone else applying for Cambridge for Sept 2027?
I completed my application for MPhil Machine Learning and Machine Intelligence. Wonder how long it takes to hear back.
Unless you applied for a Gates scholarship, the applications are only assessed as a pool after the application deadline (what Cam calls the “gathered field” approach). They commit to within 3 months after the application deadline, though it’s usually a shorter period of time after that before you hear.

I did apply for Gates scholarship, does that delay it even more or expedite?
(i assumed the latter since u said “only after”)
my application is complete as of today, but seen online that most people hear around feb-march.
Assuming you are a US applicant it expedites it, as they are assessed first in line with the earlier scholarship application deadline - the scholarship committee gets the departmental rankings late October/November. If however you are an international applicant I don’t think it makes much of a difference as it’s around the same deadline as the application deadline, and the timing of the departmental rankings for these are a similar timeline to the admission decisions themselves.

The Gates competition for US citizens residing in the US has an earlier deadline than the general one (international students or US citizens residing outside the US).

You’ll see there are different dates for “applicants notified of application outcome” between the two rounds.
