<p>nope, you get them in your sophmore year either after or during buckner. In CBT you’ll be using the good ol 2 quart canteen</p>
<p>My daughter tells me the class of 2009 had camelbacks during Beast–no canteens.</p>
<p>Yeah, on the usma website there’s pictures of the class of 2009 with camel backs doing drill or something.</p>
<p>yeah, well- at least it aint the one quart canteen. oh wait- twice the size? twice the plastic from vietnam-era tast.</p>
<p>I’m actually in love with the 2-qt. It’s easier to pour water down your throat than suck it out of a large straw when you’re exhausted</p>
<p>If I remember correctly, our daughter used the 2qt on R day and the camelback was issued later during beast.</p>
<p>Issued both at the beginning. You use the 2 quart first detail, Camelbak 2nd Detail.</p>

<p>Excited is an UNDERSTATEMENT. I can’t WAIT to go! We got assigned our Buckner Platoons today–I got scrambled to a different Platoon within 1st Co, so I’ll be with kids from a different Academic Year Company. It should be interesting. </p>
<p>I’ll be spending my time tanning, sleeping, eating good food, hanging out with friends, and spending time with my boyfriend! :)</p>
<p>Oh, and by the way Shogun, if she hasn’t told you this yet, your daughter and I are in the same MS class!</p>
