Most universities that I have been associated with including Penn State, Maryland, Cornell, Iowa, Kansas have a small area (3-4 square blocks", what I call “Campus Town”, located immediately adjacent to the campus. I realize that UMich has three campuses (North, Central, South) but does UMich have a similar “Campus Town” (restruarants, bars, coffee shops. etc) that is distinct from the city of Ann Arbor

Ann Arbor revolves around the university. Yes, downtown AA is right across the street from the diag (the main quad).

One of the great things about Ann Arbor is that there still are locally owned cafes and businesses near campus, in addition to the familiar chains.

There is the “campus town” adjacent to all three campus areas, but Ann Arbor also has a traditional main street downtown and historic old town (Kerrytown) easily accessible from campus.
