Hi, I am Daniel and I have been worrying about this one topic for several months. My aim for college is one of the ivy leagues. This is partially why I am worried sick about everything I do, even as a freshmen in high school right now.

9th grade

I have received a 3.83 this first semester: everything is honors and the B+ is received by my English 1 honors class. Next semester, I am pretty confident in receiving a 4.0.

This is a prediction…

1st semester 2nd semester

9th grade: 3.83 4.0

secretary of FBLA

10th grade: 4.16 4.16

vice president of FBLA, secretary of Key Club

11th grade: 4.66 4.66

president of FBLA, vice president of Key Club

12th grade: 4.66 4.66

president of FBLA, president of Key Club
SAT 1: 2200
SAT 2: 800, 750, 730

If this does happen, I’m pretty sure at least the lower ivy leagues would accept me. I’m just wondering, would the 3.83 in the first semester of the freshmen year put me behind in the competition? I know some colleges and universities don’t even mind the freshmen year, but ivy leagues, from what I’ve heard, does. Would it bother me?

p.s. Also, is it necessary to take Jazz Band or some sort similar to this just to show that you’re active in some way? or does band, choir, etc not matter?
