Also, I take the most rigorous classes available. 11 AP’s when i graduate

Also applying to:
Columbia, Yale, Stanford, Rice, UCLA, Tufts, University of Chicago, Penn, UT-Austin

I see that your UW GPA is rather low, and that might hurt you at the most selective schools, but then again, you did take the hardest classes available. Your EC’s are good, and I see a nice chain of similarity with the national debate team and model UN. Also, (please don’t take this as any offense, as some people have) your ethnicity will help you at those schools that are trying to keep a diverse environment, most notably the Ivies and Stanford. Your test scores are also pretty good, somewhat in range for most of these schools.

Columbia- A reach for pretty much anybody, the most qualified applicants get rejected every year, but URMs have a better shot than most here.
Yale- Pretty much the same as Columbia
Stanford- ^^^
Rice- Match
UCLA- Not a lot of room for OOS, but still low match/in
Tufts- High match
UChicago- If your essays aren’t great, then slight reach. They put a lot of emphasis on them
Penn- Low reach
UT- If you’re not already in w/ 10% rule, you should be in anyways. Safety

Actually, I’m pretty sure that being a communist will give you an edge at most highly-selective universities.

Anyways, your chances as I see them:

Columbia, Communist paradise! Could easily start the second hippie/beatnick wave. Having Barnard nearby and SoHo across town would greatly help such a movement. Admission might be a little tougher, though.
Yale, tread carefully here. Admission will be tough, and pursuing a communist agenda will be even tougher. Home of Bush and Bush The Quack does not take kindly to the underground force.
Stanford, Don’t know. Expect admission chances to be on par with Yale, and communism tolerance to be moderate/ gradual majority support. Being located in the San Fran met helps, but is not a guarantee.
Rice, See UT-Austin
UCLA, Not worth it. LA has too many problems, and citizens such as OJ and Brittney Spears would drag down any future communist empire
Tufts, You betcha! The anti- Sarah Palin.
University of Chicago, Home of communism, graduates perfected communism, Barack Obama rose above communism and is the best person on earth (seriously, google it. He’s right up there with Hue Heffner, our former most respected citizen) Definitely potential here, and your stats are on the right track
Penn, Who knows? Don’t even mention the word communism around wharton people though.
UT-Austin- good chance of admission, but communist tendencies will have to stay on the D.L. Entire state of Texas still gets routine “red scares” from Joe McCarthy. Preferrable punishment is water torture, then the electric chair (in that order)

Wherever you end up, good luck. Best of luck to your movement, too.

Also, come chance me at

I don’t really do chances bc I am not qualified to (as a prospective student I do not know that much). I would say though that your unweighted GPA could be a potential problem.

Anyway, I have noticed that quite a few of the qualified minorities on these boards tend to be from Texas.

Have you seen the demographics of Texas recently? Pretty much half of their population is made up of minority groups.

I hate texas lol, i can’t wait to get out of here. I know my GPA sucks but i suck at science. I pretty much have straight A’s and then B or C in whatever science i am taking. I have all AP classes though so does that help any? Also my rank isn’t great im like 25/60 at my magnet.

YOU JUST MESSED WITH TEXAS! DEATH IS THE ONLY ANSWER!!!

lol, I can’t wait to go back to Texas, as I was born there but had to move since I was 6. The only times I ever go back are unfulfilling summers

Wow, calm down are you sure you’re from Texas? Texas is amazing, and I might even move back here after college, either here or somewhere on the East Coast like Viriginia or North Carolina.

Even though Texas has many minorities I think it is more hispanic students than black students.
Sushi does your score publish ranks? It seems that at a small school like that they wouldn’t rank. Hey if we both get into yale maybe I can convince you how of amazing Texas is ;)!

My school does though. I hate it.
