Can a student who spends 2 years at community college and then transfers to an established university get into a T-5 Law School with same numbers as someone who spent 4 years at that established school?
Can a student who starts at community college get into a T-5 Law school in general?
Absolutely. In fact, it might actually be an advantage, because depending on how you spin it, it shows tenacity and dedication. The law school is looking for top grades and strong LSAT scores. If you have those, then community college should be a complete nonfactor except for calculating your cumulative GPA. Obvbiously, you had top grades at community college, or you wouldn’t have gotten into an established university. T-5 law schools are highly competitive, so there’s always a reason to decline applicants, but definitely possible.
The short answer is ‘absolutely’.
A better answer however, is don’t limit yourself to the T5. (why no love for NYU?)
If you can get into the ‘t5’, you can earn some serious merit money at the lower t14. Unless your family is wealthy, why not aim for the free cash?
