Can a HS junior meet with a coach on a visit?

My son is a high school wrestler. We want to make some campus visits before this semester is over. Is there any restriction on him visiting with a wrestling coach during these visits?

BTW, we’d be going to both Div I and Div III schools

It’s fine as long as it isn’t during a “dead period”, which is a designated couple of days when recruiting is restricted. Meeting coaches during junior year “unofficial visits” was an important part of my kids’ college search.

Thanks for the reply.

When are the dead periods?

I found this with a quick google search
http://fs.ncaa.org/Docs/AMA/recruiting_calendars/DI/Text/OtherSports.pdf</a>
It’s from last year, but the basic concepts are probably universal.

Good luck.

Since I follow fencing, I was intrigued by this part.

Typical NCAA confusion: There is no such thing as a “North American Cup Fencing Championship”. There are NACs, there are Championships, but they’re not the same thing.

Thanks, I was able to find the dates for 2010-2011
