Can a late secondary school report affect admission?

So all my stuff is in, or is about to be sent in–I am finishing up my app soon. The only thing that isn’t in yet (to the USC admissions office) is the secondary school report. I am trying to meet the due date December 1, and our school is not back until this Monday because of Thanksgiving break. If my counselor postmarks the mail before December 1, will it still be taken as on time? I don’t think it is fair that if they do not meet their deadline (which I have already told them of well ahead of time), that my chances for admission get hurt, or I do not get to meet the December 1 deadline.

Thanks for your help.

It just has to be postmarked by December 1st. You’re fine as long as she sends in the report by that date.

Once you submit your apps, USC will make sheets that you can use to Fax them your Secondary School Report, Transcript, and SAT/ACT scores.

I think USC recommends you fax it to them anyways. I got instant confirmation that all four of my documents were received.

funnyman, here is some deadline info I wrote up for last year’s applicants that is still valid: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-southern-california/819609-2010-applicants-answer-dec-1st-deadline-everything.html?highlight=december+1st+deadline

Bear in mind that USC only requires one teacher or counselor report, so since they have already received at least one of those your admission will not be negatively affected, and the subsequent arrival of the counselor report/school report will only *add *to your application.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving!
