What if a person does his Extra curiculars, has a good gpa, and has a great SAT I score, but he or she didn’t take the SAT II because they were too late to take it for example. Can that person still have a chance to get into Harvard?

It is a testing requirement. They may close your file for missing documents without making a decision.

My understanding on how Harvard works, and it is crucial to their admissions process for most kids, is to take a 5 test SAT1/2 score. Other selective schools do the same.

For a truly striking candidate with good reason, they may make exception. But the problem with schools like HPY et al, is you have to be truly exceptional to get the exception. Being too late is not an excuse likely to cut it. If you are applyng next year, have time to get those tests done.

It’s not to late to take the June SATII tests, but you would be on a “waitlist” for available space. Check with CollegeBoard to make sure.

Hey guys, I have school exams on the same day as the June SAT subject tests, will I be able to take those my senior year before applications?

I don’t really intend to apply to Harvard ( just randomly went to this forum), but I know of other colleges that either require or recommend SAT II’s.

The next ones are probably in October and November. so you should be fine.

So If I am an give them a reason why I am an exceptional candidate, they may allow me to register anyways?

As far as Harvard is concerned, they could nt care less whether you take the test or not. They just wont accept your application if you dont submit the scores.

Please note that in order for your application to be considered complete, we must have your official test scores submitted directly to Harvard by the testing agency on your behalf.

Official score reports for Two SAT Subject Tests
You may take any two subject tests. Students should not submit two Subject Tests in mathematics to meet this requirement. Candidates whose first language is not English should ordinarily not use a Subject Test in their first language to meet the two Subject Tests requirement. All students are encouraged to submit additional Subject Tests (which may include one in a student’s first language), Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate test results, or any other evidence of the breadth and depth of their academic accomplishments.

What if there was an exceptional candidate who applied who had 2400 sat I score, some extra curiculars and perfect a level scores, then could I have a chance?

Big deal. There are 400 kids each year who get 2400. If someone does nt know how to read instructions that say very clearly their application is not being processed without SAT IIs, how exceptional could they be when they dont know how to READ simple English?

Btw one got rejected with 2400, 36, number ONE in his graduating class.
