I think the title is self explanatory. I don`t really have teachers from school who teach me the subjects i take (Its complicated) so can I ask my principal to write a ‘teacher reccomendation’ for me?
If the principal taught you as a student, then he or she can write a recommendation. The schools want recs from people who were your teachers - ideally teachers of your core subjects.
Sounds like you have an unusual educational situation. Why not talk to the school about what they’ve done for students in your situation in the past?
If you are a student who does mostly independent study, which is the position I am in also, than it may be acceptable. I had my principal fill our those types of things and it was acceptable. That being said my principal has a very intimate knowledge of my academic qualities and directly oversees my independent study. Ask your colleges what they think as soon as possible. If they say they prefer teacher recs, than try and find a way to do it and get as much time in with these teachers as possible.
