Can a scholarship be revoked retroactively?

Say a university scholarship is tied to overall GPA at the end of each spring semester. And say you take a summer class at a community college and get a grade that would put you below the scholarship threshold. If you don’t transfer that summer grade until two years later, will the university say you have to return your scholarship money because, chronologically, you didn’t qualify?

It depends on the schools. Most schools calculate GPA only on the classes that you took at that school.

I highly doubt the school would ask for the money back if you sent the grade after scholarships are figured for that last year. I highly doubt that one hand knows what the other hand is doing. Meaning that the registrars office gets the grade, and the scholarship office wouldn’t know it.

I would wait until senior year, when scholarship is extended for that last year, and then send the grade. Is the grade even necessary to graduate? If not, don’t ever send it.

If the grade is that low, would the college even accept it? And does the school factor cc courses toward GPA? My kids’ school only took them as P/F and did not put them toward the GPA.

Find out what you can about the credit transfer policy. At many places the grade isn’t even recorded, just that you have been awarded credit for the equivalent of X semester hours of subject Z.

Thanks. You guys rock. I expected, but not from you, a bunch of people yelling at me for trying to cheat.
