If an outside scholarship was paid during freshman year to a student’s college and during his junior year the benefactors want to take back the scholarship can they do that?
What is the reason the benefactors want to be repaid?
Perhaps if was received under false pretenses. Are you saying they don’t want to award it going forward? Or that they want to be repaid for freshman year award? What do you mean ‘take back’. They might have to sue you to get it back, but if there is a reason you may be better off giving it than going to court.
I doubt the school is going to refund the money to them unless there was something illegal done.
