Can a senator get me into stanford?

I have above average grades 4.0+, and i may be able to make a connection with a pretty prestigious senator who graduated from stanford. Do you think the senator’s personal letter of recomendation, or phone call to contacts the senator has at the school can help?

I don’t think so.

If you have no personal connection at present, no, it will not help. Might even hurt.

No. If you want to get into Stanford, you have to know what S looks for and have those attributes. You’d know it’s not all about gpa. You have to be the sort of person who would be digging for that, in the first place. Not on a forum, but on their web pages and in their public statements. Sorry, but so many lately seem to want the one line answers. And, c’mon, you “may” be able to make a contact? What’s he going to say, I met this kid? The thread question seems suspect.

My advice is please don’t try to make a connection with “a pretty prestigious senator” just to get into Stanford. It will honestly be a waste of his/her time and your time if your only incentive is to get a letter of rec from him/her.

No, that is not how things work and you stand to embarrass yourself.

how about a vice president? if your mom is the president’s chief of staff?

No, the connection would be to push for some policy that I am passionate about, but I was just wondering if the senator were to join me, could this help in my college admissions

I could try for the president, vp, sectratary of state. would it help?

Spin it however way you want to, the answer is still the same: no.

Still NO. He doesn’t teach you, what would this imaginary letter say? He spoke well in front of me, I could tell he needs to be at Stanford? Seriously, even asking this thread question isn’t a good sign. and converting it to president makes the word ■■■■■ come to mind.

thanks for you answers

i think that if you actually do have a connection with that senator, and if he does advocate for u, I think it is possible
