To put it simply, I scored a 29 composite on my ACT. I took it again but was feeling miserable during the test and so I just wrote answers down because I just wanted to finish and be done with it. I ended up with a 24. My GC says that a score increase or decrease of ‘5’ or greater can be eligible for revocation by ACT (apparently it looks suspicious). Can this actually happen?

First of all, it’s probably in your favor that it went DOWN by 5 and not up. Since it’s simply “eligible” for revocation, I highly doubt that will happen to you. It’s likely that they’ll either ignore it or minimally check it for any red flags (completely different handwriting, funky signature, etc…).

My neighbor’s son’s score went up by 7 points after ACT tutoring…no revocation.

If it was possible, it would be posted on the ACT.org
It is not, so don’t worry. Your GC is just being arrogant.
