Hi, I’ve already taken the SAT and got a 2300, and I have two subject tests with decent scores. I took the ACT last month just to see how well I would do and hopefully add it to my resume in place of another subject test. I got a composite score of 34, which I was satisfied with, but apparently that translates to around a 2250ish in the SAT. Since that’s lower than my SAT score, should I put in on my application or take it off? Could it hurt?

Also, one more question. If I end up deciding not to include my ACT score and I have to delete it (since I signed up for it to be automatically sent to schools for time reasons), will admissions officers be able to see that I requested for the school to throw it out?

Basically, what I’m saying is, one of your scores will be lower than the other (unless they’re exactly the same), so there’s no reason to automatically drop the lowest score with only a 50 pt gap. If the difference was, say, 300 pts or so, that could be a good cause to drop the lower score.

Perhaps just move on to something else? What I mean is that any school that would reject you for a 2300 is the same school that will reject you with 2300+. You’ve already shown you have mastered standardized testing. You should emphasize other things of better value/interest to you.

Remember, highly selective schools will evaluate you holistically and don’t want to fill their classes with one dimensional test-wonks.
