Can an SAT subject test replace a high school course requirement?

Hello people. Right now, I feel kind of worried. On a few of the colleges that I plan to apply to, there are high school course requirements for certain schools. One course requirement is biology. As hard to believe as it may be, the last time I took biology was in 8th grade. I take the IB program and have a relatively high GPA. But will I get rejected just because I did not take Biology? I want to apply to Chemical Engineering for these schools, but I’m worried that I will be rejected. Can I just take the SAT Subject Test in October to act as a substitute? Thanks1

Was the 8th grade class the same one normally offered to 9/10th graders? If so, have your GC note it clearly; that you were on an accelerated schedule which included your finishing some basic classes before 9th grade

This is a tough question. The true answer is that it really depends on the school you’re going for. However, the best person to ask would be your counselor, so drop him an email or something. As far as personal opinion, I believe that if you do well on SAT molecular biology you will show the colleges that you at least know the material. In any case, if you are going for chemical engineering, which I must commend because it is/will be a popular career, you should just take the molecular bio test anyways.

Why don’t you call the school in question and ask? Many times those are recommended courses, but exception are made all the time - they will be able to tell you exactly what the situation is.
