hey would any of you guys happen to know if Dartmouth has a biochemistry program like the one that UPenn has?? <a href=“Biochemistry | Penn Arts & Sciences”>Biochemistry | Penn Arts & Sciences;

also…would you guys recommend Dartmouth for a major in Biochem or a related field?? and does Dartmouth have a research initiative program like MIT with its UROP program??

I’d appreciate any info you can give me =D

You cannot compare Dartmouth to a place like MIT. MIT trains Scientists and engineers. They force you to take at least 2-3 science and Math classes simultaneously whereas many people at Dartmouth discourage such things. Dartmouth offers many ways to do research, some of support free thinking students. WHat do I mean? Come up with a viable research topic that you are passionate about and request funds for it.

fwiw, MIT also has a fantastic field of study in the liberal arts. Top Notch. However, it is known more for it’s science and engineering.

i know what you mean Konye618…im not tryin to compare the too just tryin to see if Dartmouth has a similar program to the one at MIT…im not sayin one is better than the other

and thnx for that link ohmadre =-D

Penn’s Vagelos MLS program is very unique and you won’t find one like it at many colleges. It is very rigorous and places a lot of emphasis on research, including two stipended summers that are mandatory. Vagelos graduates have a ton of opportunities and if you are considering biochemistry seriously, you should definitely “apply.”
