so im really confused. Am i suppose to wait for the letter for merit scholarship application form?
will the letter come on march or September? and where? do i receive it from school or mailbox?

I got a 231

I have heard I can use the psat score to apply for some summer camps that are beneficial for my college app
Where I can find those summer camps?

I searched online but most of them are just ivy league camps for rich kids. you pay you go type
does anyone know any camps based on psat and are somewhat prestigious?

Thanks!

You also need to take the SAT.

Please let us know what summer programs actually are a help in college admissions. I’d be interested in that list.

Are you a junior? There are some camps that ask for test scores (I feel like TASP asked my kid – but she also had a 231, and didn’t get in, it is just one factor). Davidson THINK would look at it, but you have aged out of that, I expect. Also don’t know if CTY, TIPS, etc. have camps for juniors.

Summer programs CAN help your admissions if they are something where you get to expand on or explore your interest more deeply. But they certainly aren’t a required element for admission to any college.

Ohio State has a week-long math camp that does help with admissions and OSU does offer scholarships to offset the cost. I can’t remember the name of it off the top of my head, but admission to the program is limited and competitive.

There are all kinds of camps and many offer scholarship $$ to kids who can’t afford to attend full pay. SSP and Math Camp both have scholarship $$. PAN is a physics camp which is free except for your travel expenses. All of those are fairly competitive admissions type camps and are excellent experiences to be able to note on applications for college or REUs, etc. (I am mostly familiar with math and physics camps, but there are LOTS of them out there.)
