Money and position have always been the main factor thats causing all the chaos among my two extreme families, and I was born in between them. My fathers side of the family looks down on my mothers side of the family because they are poor. On the other hand, my mothers side of the family does not like them too because they think being rich does not make them superior. However, my parents still got married, and it is I who has to bear the two extremes.
In my fathers family, they seek for power, success, and reputation. As long as one becomes successful, one is honored by the family. Every family member was rich but my father. His business did not go as he expected, and he failed ever since. He was a disgrace to the family; my grandparents treat him different than everyone else. He tells me all the time, Become successful and show them what weve got! Dont be a failure like me. I could not help but feel sorry for him every time that even his family turned against him. I promised myself that I will earn his reputation back and show them that my father has taught me well.
In my mothers family, they are poor but hardworking; they cherish each other and value kinship. Money is never the issue, but it is always the problem. Sometimes, they have a hard time just to live through a day. No one has a stable job but my mother. She is the only person in the whole family who can actually carry through living; she is also the only person that was successful. Both of my grandparents passed out and left with two brothers and two sisters including my mom. They support each other with every will possible. However, there are still minor conflicts going back and forth because of money. I always have a hard time watching them arguing with each other, arguing with the only family members they have left. In fact, I hate it. I made another promise that I will make a lot of money and stop the fighting among my families because of money.

This is the world that I live in, a combination of theirs. I need to work hard and succeed for them. Success, reputation, school, studies, and hard work. These words mean nothing to me, but they mean everything to my family. Living in between these two extreme families, I realized that the goals my parents seek are both important. However, I think happiness is most important. It is not only the goal that I will seek, but also the key to success in life.
