Can being a legacy hurt you?

Can being a legacy hurt a student if the parent…

  • was uninvolved with the school after graduation;
  • Or failed to give any $;
  • Or transferred away from the school;
  • Or some other reason?

No

But would you be a legacy if they didn’t graduate (transferred away)?

If you want to go to this school, apply and see if you get accepted.

You won’t not be accepted because of your parents - unless it’s expensive, a need aware school, and you need too much.

But the comment about high need would apply regardless of whether or not the student is a legacy.

Correct.

I’m just saying legacy and I’m not sure they are - will not impact negatively.
