Can Cancun for Spring Break

I was worried about the business of Spring Break, but my son went anyway. Dealt with a company called Student City. Hotel didn’t have a safe in the room called Dos Playa. Well to make a long story longer, we were awakened in the middle of the night with him calling saying his passport had been stolen…his friends were extorted by the police there…he was robbed of all his money by a taxi driver. Parents please tell your children to listen carefully to what they orientation is telling them. Student city was supposed to help him, he waited in the lobby for 2 hours and they never showed up. He could not report to police because they took money as well. Mexico is still very unsafe, if for any reason they go off the resort. The central hotel called Oasis Cancun is a mile away from Dos Playa…that is the only hotel you will want them to stay. After spending 45 minutes trying to call I finally got through…not after spending quite a while on the phone trying to get through to the embassy.Student City in USA never picked up phone either. Student City will help him in the morning to get another passport but this was not the way to spend a spring break. We will suggest Florida from now on and I hope he will abide. BTW, no one really speaks English. If your child is road smart then have a great time. My phone calls are almost as much as his trip.

I’m really sorry he’s going through this. Post a hotel review here:
