Can college essays raise chances?

I didn’t do too good in high school, and I am be getting a 2.0 in community college(I’m graduating high school early).
I had a friend last year who wrote her college essay explaining why she got a C in one of her classes, because she never got a C in high school before. She ended up getting into the college.
I was thinking maybe writing my college essay on why I didn’t do too good in high school and the first semester in college. Would that be a good idea? Or not?

It depends on the schools you’re targeting. I’d say the best source of advice would be the transfer counselors at your CC – they have long-lasting relationships w/many area 4-yr colleges and can give you good inside info.

Good luck to you.
