My first year college GPA (counting Fall08 and Spring09): 2.92

I currently have straight A’s in 13 units I’m in. Could this do much to bring up my chances? I’m trying for UCSD and UCI as a Sociology major.

If you make the gpa for tag you should be fine. I am no admissions officer but personally, I think it would be unfair for one quarter/semester’s grades to counterbalance an entire year of f—ups.

for a non impacted major…then above a 3.0 you should have a good chance at both those school, even if you didnt tag

Does this include First semester '09 grades too? Or just grades from the 1st year…because unless its the former, I only have a 2.92. With grades added from this semester, though, I will probably have roughly a 3.45

im talking about your gpa until end of fall. and if it is 3.45 you might as well apply to UCLA as a slight reach
