I’m a student from Syria, I’ve completed high school and completed a post-secondary education program called “the prepatory year for medical programs” at Tishreen University in Lattakia, This program is required to enroll in medical programs un my country but one can decide to enroll in any other program(like engineering ….) if he or she wishes. Also, one’s grades from this post-secondary education program don’t count in the final evaluation of the program he or she enrolls in after completing it. Can I still apply as a freshman?
You would need to check with the various colleges that you’re interested in. Send them an email to describe your question and they will let you know.
Since it’s a preparatory program, it sounds like a post graduate, pre university year that wouldn’t carry credit.
Ask universities you’re interested in.
If you took any of these course for credit, you may not be a freshman.
Ask the schools about their policies.
