My first choice university is outside of the United States. Can I apply Early Decision to a university in the United States? If I get in, am I obligated to withdraw my application to the foreign university? I ask because my second choice university is in the USA and has an ED program.
Check the school web site. In most cases you can apply out of country. But you’ll need to withdraw that app if you get in ED and can afford it.
If a school is not your first choice, don’t apply to it ED. Because if you were to get in to the foreign university, and your american ED school, you would have to go to the american school (because ED is legally binding).
You are obligated to attend if you get into your ED school. Don’t play games.
