Can I ask a school to reconsider scholarship?

I’m a high school senior, and planning to go to Howard University, mainly because of the scholarship they offered. I received the Capstone Scholarship which covers tuition, fees, and room.
Now, I’m not trying to be greedy, but I noticed that the requirement to be considered for board + book stipend (worth about 3.5k) was easily achievable for me this semester. You see, from 9th to 11th grade, I was a super-slacker, and that’s all the school saw in my transcript (GPA = 2.9UW and 3.3W) However, this semester I’m on track to get a 4.2, which, according to my calculations, would raise my GPA above the requirement (my SAT scores are already within range).
I applied Early Action, and considering that the “official” deadline isn’t until February 15th, and I will significantly raise my GPA, I was wondering if it would be proper to ask for them to reconsider.

I think it would be ok since you applied early action.

good luck!!!

Thank you!

It’s a good idea to ask, but the school has no requirement to reconsider, and with a 2.9 GPA there is a real chance they will not add more.

Definitely ask.

It would be better if when you ask, you have your latest cumulative GPA available for them to see.

Have you asked your high school to send a mid-year report with your new cum GPA? If not, you should do so.
