So I’m enrolled in Arts and Humanities and the Honors college, and the only orientation dates for both of these are after I leave for a summer job across the country. I’d like to attend another program’s orientation, but the registration website only gives me the option of registering for the dates I can’t attend. I’ve emailed the orientation office, but I haven’t heard back yet. I just want to know: has anyone been allowed to register for an orientation of a different program?
[Also, don’t tell me to be quiet and wait for a response. Let’s be real- this entire website is devoted to unwarranted panic.]
I had thought there were general ones that are late, but that may vary. It simply won’t let you because the orientation is based on the college you will be enrolled in, since advising and course selection happens then.
@lenmonster That’s what I figured, but I hope they have a way to let me attend a different one. I’m considering a temporary switch to Letters and Sciences if I can’t attend an orientation outside of ARHU, because they have an Honors orientation date that I can attend (but only as a last resort).
Does anyone have experience with registering for a different orientation?
It might take them while to get back to you, but for the most part they will let you register for a different one if you explain your situation. You could try calling, and if whoever you called didn’t help, call someone else until someone can help you.
Thank you @MDBandGeek I’ll try that
