Can I.B Standard Math students solve SAT 2 Math L2?

Hey guys, im an I.B student who takes standard math and Im just wondering if we are capable of sovling SAT2 Math L2.

Also if there are new topics, can it be self-taught during the summer?
Do you have to be a math-wheez to solve the SAT2 Math L2?
Finally, do college give more kudos to students who have solved Math L2 or Math L1 or the same amount?

yes u can, math2 is pretty easy, and is completely self-studyable as long as you’re genuinely good at math. around 9% of the test takers score 800, so it’s not that bad really.
i took it as a sophomore and scored 800, i just selfstudied most of the stuff, i didnt use any prep book.

If you’re currently taking IB SL, you are going to have to study a bunch more topics. IB SL covers a little over half of the same stuff that AP BC Calc studied, so just recognize that that may be who you are competing against. Yes I understand you’re not really “competing” but regardless, you will need to study mnore on your own. Over the summer should be fine but start soon!

all math 2 goes up to is trigonometry and a lil bit of limits.

yeah but i guess just because AP covers so much more they have a better backround and at least in my experience tend to do slightly better…

Math Level 2 does not cover any calculus topics. It does have probability questions, though, which can be a terrible experience if you have never taken a probability class (good luck knowing the factorial combination notation). It also has advanced algebra questions, which can easily throw off people who do take calculus because some of the questions are almost archaic at that point.
