I would greatly appreciate it if you could tell me whether I have a chance at being admitted Interim Decision, and I know it’s a MAJOR stretch, but I really want to get into Baylor. Please advise.

Thanks in advance.

SAT II need to be brought up. I’m sure once you study, your SAT I will go up. Juding by your PSAT, you do well on SAT type questions. YOu should try Baylor, you are better off than I was. I had NO hospital experience. Remember test scores aren’t everything. Your extracurricular stuff are impressive. Write an AWESOME essay. I’m sure you’ll do fine. I would say you have a faily good shot of getting in on the id.

The fact that you aren’t from Texas is a major plus. Seconding bluedaisy1234. Take an SAT prep course from Kaplan or Princeton Review or something and learn some extra tricks, then go back in there and kill those tests. =)

Getting into Baylor is a major stretch for anybody, but if you write good essays that demonstrate your passion for what you do, then you’ll be on an even playing field with everyone else. Keep in mind that even if you don’t get into the Baylor program, acceptance rates from Rice grads to med schools are still excellent, so it wouldn’t be the end of the world. =)

Good luck!

SAT IIs are not bad for regular Rice- might need to be higher for Rice/Baylor. D’s bf got into Rice as bio-chem major with lower SAT IIs than that (SAT was higher, though).

Thank you for your encouraging support! Before, I wasn’t sure whether I should even apply, but now I will!
