Can I be accepted into college without having taken the SAT yet?

<p>I am applying to UT Dallas.</p>

<p>They require SAT or ACT but I haven’t taken either one yet and the next test dates are in April or May. </p>

<p>Do you think I can I apply, be accepted and send in my scores later?</p>

<p>Where I live, you can go to community college without having taken SAT or ACT. </p>

<p>But if UT Dallas requires SAT or ACT scores from freshman applicants, I can’t understand why you’d think that they would accept you without them.</p>

<p>You can complete an application with the scores pending, but you shouldn’t expect an admissions decision until months after you’ve been able to take the ACT or SAT. It will take weeks for the scores to be available, and then possibly 4-6 weeks for UT Dallas to act on your application.</p>

<p>Are you applying to begin college next fall? If so, you’re really on the late end of things, and you’d be wise to contact somebody in the admissions office at UT Dallas to ask whether they even want your application if you can’t take standardized tests before April. </p>

<p>On the other hand, if you’re a high school junior now, and applying for admission in the fall of 2013, you’re too early. They won’t want to hear from you until fall of your senior year.</p>

<p>Yeah. I am assuming I’m going to score 1500 or more on the SAT I was just shorter to say that than explain that I haven’t taken it and why.</p>

<p>Well, I do, because their web page encourages seniors to apply early in the fall.</p>

<p>But perhaps not too late. I’ll certainly concede, I didn’t know the deadline was as late as 7/1. You may not need to call and ask if they’ll still take your application. But I don’t think they’ll make a decision on your application before they receive your test scores.</p>

<p>thanks! I haven’t taken the SAT because I had planned on going to community college to save money. Now I strongly desire to go to a university! This is depressing :/</p>
