So, basically i dont want to send the same test scores to each school that I’m applying to via the common app. for example, i will send my subject test scores to stanford because they reccomend them, and my new SAT score, because i have already accidently sent them a lower one, and my ACT because it is my best score. but i just want to send brown my ACT, because they accept it instead of the SAT+SAT2. SO basically can i send all my scores to stanford, then change it to just my act before i send the common app to brown?

I want to do something silimiliar. I actually want to send lower scores, like my 1840, to my safty schools because they have been known to waitlist overlyqualified applicants, like those with 2100+. :P

haha wow that kinda sucks. Does anyone know if this is possible?

I think it is possible. What you would do is just to fill out the “low scores” as you say to the safety school and just say “submit application” to that school. and then i think you can go back an edit all of the information for higher scores to other schools and then “submit application” for those schools. but i’m not 100% sure, defintely talk to your counselor. he/she is more knowledgeable about the subject.

alright cool. thanks

I think amaster’s advice is pretty good. I’m not sure if colleges see any edits you bring to your application after it has been submitted, but you definitely don’t want to submit great scores to some top schools and then risk them seeing the lower ones for the safeties.

Anyone who can vouch for this? I noticed some colleges have a notification that your application has been “downloaded”. At THAT point, I’d feel safter making changes. But that could take awhile. I’ve been HOPING this type of change was the case. Anybody out there with older kids/siblings who knows for sure?

I sent an email to the people at Common App asking how to send different scores to different colleges. If anyone wants me to forward them the email, PM me.

If you want to edit the common app after you’ve sent it to a school, there is a way to ‘duplicate’ it to make more copies that you can edit. I can’t exactly remember how I did it though - I applied last year and it wont let me log on now to check. I know though that once you’re logged in, it tells you how to do it I think in the FAQ somewhere.

How to fill out different versions…from the Common App website. I couldn’t link directly to the answer. So just search “different version” (or similar)

Well, first you have to submit a completed application to a school or it doesn’t let you. Go to instructions on the left menu, click application versions, and they go through the process step by step.
