Can I expect a 2300+?

Okay, so I’ve been taking several previously administered PSATs and have gotten the following scores:

Saturday 2005 - 222 (74M, 70CR, 78W)
Saturday 2003 - 232 (77M, 75CR, 80W)
Tuesday 2002 - 230 (77M, 73CR, 80W)

With a little more practice, is it plausible for me to expect a 2300+ on the SAT? (I got a 2040 in march but studied and took the PSATs…)

Of course…but once you get up to the score range you are at, a lot is based on luck. Sometimes you know the vocab words, and sometimes you don’t. Another thing you may need to worry about is the essay. Your mc writing scores are awesome, and hopefully your essay is good enough to keep your writing score on the actual SAT that high.

maybe .

it’s all about luck

Hmm, so I take it it’s not really about skill anymore but about getting lucky? That’s not good since luck and I are not too close :P

well…luck DEFINITELY plays a role…if u got the vocab u knew…math problems u liked…reading psgs u enjoyed…essay topics u wrote easily about…but i would say around 70% is still ‘skill’…the other 30% is luck…that’s how i c it…

I’m afraid that once you get past around 2250 luck does play a role. That’s also why CB now does “score ranges” (if you look at the online score report) because your score on a given test day can vary by around + or - 50 points, if not more.

That being said, I think that if you prepare yourself well, that also will tip the odds significantly in your favor. Definitely keep practicing, keep learning vocab, etc. Good luck!
