Can i get into a UC with a gpa of 2.8???

I understood things are getting competitive now, but recently im struggle with my education. Im failing hard and couldn’t resist, but to accept the reality.

my gpa will be around 2.8 when im apply. with a gpa of 2.8, and my major is bus admin, and i dont have TAG. In another word, major is very competitve, is there a chance i can get in to either UCR, UCSB, UCSD? I heard UCR accepts everybody.

tough, last year UCR rescind a lot of applicants. They are not consider as a referral school anymore. If u apply or TAG last year, u will definitely in for sure, but this year, im not really sure, especially for bus admin. Bus major is impacted everywhere in UCs. Sorry but i have to say no. You will not get in with 2.8 gpa.

A friend of mine got accepted to UCR, UCI, and UC-Davis with a 2.76 GPA majoring in History. So, I guess it depends on your major.

With a 2.8 in a competitive major doesn’t sound too likely, but anything is possible. You won’t know for certain until you try.

maybe UCR or UCM. depends on your major though. if it’s more pointless, the more likelihood you have of being accepted to schools in the upper tier

Unfortunately, with a 2.8 gpa and an intended business major, your chances for UC are unlikely. This is not to say that you will definitely be rejected, but brace yourself. Have you applied to your local CSU as well?

2.8 and business doesn’t mix well. u might have a shot at ucr and ucm though. or the inferior csu’s excluding sdsu, cal poly, and csulb

did any of the UC’s accept you? and where did you end up going?

You should have been on this site WAY earlier.

3.5ish or HIGHER for UCI
nearly a 4.0 for UC Berkeley AND INCREDIBLE ECs to boot.
I’d say 3.0+ for UCR. You might be in the running here.

with a 2.8 you’ll also likely be rejected from a number of CSU’s programs as well since business admin is generally impacted.

Your best bet for a UC is likely in applying as an economics major. You can take management classes on the side. To some extent, your major doesn’t matter for “business” where you go and what you DO does.

Sure you have a shot at UCR, UCM, and maybe a smaller shot at some other UCs. I would recommend applying to 2-4 UCs and then another 3ish CSUs.
