I googled it. Looks like De Anza is one of the few CCC’s to use + and -.

Anyway, your grades look great. Make sure your personal statement is equally as great, complete all of your pre-reqs ([Welcome to ASSIST](<a href=“Welcome to ASSIST”>Welcome to ASSIST)), and a few decent EC’s wouldn’t hurt and you can feel confident during the long five month wait. Good luck.

As long as you explain those w’s in the personal statement it really should not affect you that much. Cal and UCLA are very understanding when it comes to circumstances that would make you have to drop your classes for a semester.

Seriously (not kidding, I mean it, it’s the truth, etc, etc, etc), that is because GPA is only one of a handful of factors admissions takes into consideration.

Do yourself a favor and get “GPA only” out of your head.

I believe the question of this topic was if he can get in with these GRADES. And its not all about GPA. If you know how to read, you should’ve read, “ALso depends on how easy or hard your major is to get in” I rest my case.

The reason why people with 4.0s get rejected to Haas is because they only have about an 8% acceptance rate. Contrarily, I believe anthropology has about a 70% acceptance rate for UCLA. The only reason why I see someone would get rejected for anthro with a 4.0 is because they didn’t complete their required coursework.

dasani25, I don’t think you’ll have any trouble getting in.

the actual acceptance rate for people that finished all the prereqs for haas is around 25%. That 8% figure includes all the applications that did not have the prereqs completed.

I go to De Anza and the +'s and -'s really do affect your gpa (B-=2.7, A-=3.7, etc.) but I’m sure you will be fine as long as you show you are passionate in your subject of study and very involved in the community. I got into Cal with a 3.2 =] Make sure you complete your pre-reqs!

ps
and with no offense, dasani is straight up tap water lol
