can i get into harvard with a 4.0/5.0 gpa? ...

<p>i am a urm, first generation from africa, with mediocre stats. (4.0/5.0 in a very competitive school but i can account for this) but it’s always been my dream to go to harvard. i have some powerful experiences i can write about (i’m on the school newspaper) but my extracurriculars and my grades are all pretty bad… what do you think? will my race and my past counterract my stats?</p>

<p>The 4.0 scale is actually calculated differently depending on where you’re looking at it from. 4.0s are of course decent. An actual 100% number helps. </p>

<p>u say ur ECs and grade r pretty bad: if YOU think they r bad, then what chance do you think you would have when Harvard admissions officers r comparing u to thousands of others?</p>
