Hi i am a senior in high school i have a 3.8 and i have only taken one honors class through high school. I got a 28 on my act. I have played soccer all 4 years and have 75 hours of community service. I really want to get into kelley as i want to be a sports agent. I am out of state. Can i get in to kelley or just indiana itself even though i only took one honors course and no ap courses throughout highschool?

I would say at this point it is 50/50, at this point. Your GPA is strong, as is your ACT, but there are no guarantees at this point since you have waited this long to apply. Get the application in before April 1 (before it starts being reviewed on a space-available basis) and you have a pretty good shot of getting in. As far as getting into Kelley, most likely you would have to petition to get yourself into the school on Direct Admission.

just on my statistics not on how late i apply can i get in if i applied on time per say?

well if you’re a senior it does matter. and if you applied on time, then yeah i would say you’re in.

k thxs…do you know if indiana doesnt care about how challenging your classes are because as you know i only took 1 honors class do you think that will be a problem with getting in to indiana?

it could be an issue but I think the 28 ACT makes up for it. submit a personal statement and a complete list of your extracurriculars as well, and you should be fine. the only thing that could hold you back is that you did not take those honors and ap classes in high school.

damn…k thxs anyone else?

You should be able to make Indiana, but Kelley may not be as certain.

does indiana focus on how hard the classes you take in high school are?

No, they don’t for university admissions. Remember though, since you have a 28 ACT, you will have to petition for direct admission into Kelley. The deadline for that is April 15, and you must be admitted to Indiana before you can petition for Kelley.

The Kelley admissions staff will take into account the rigor of your classes when considering your petition. There is a lot more info on petitioning on the IU forum.
