Hi, I’m curious to get feedback on what schools I should apply to and whether I have a chance into some schools. My gpa is low: 3.44/4 and 4.2/5, we send out the higher gpa to schools idk if it makes a difference. I didn’t study for my ACT and got a 26, IM aiming for a 30 when I retake it in September.
My ECs:
President of student council
Class council
Rotary interact
Volunteered at a hospital, 64 hours
National honors society, I will have 35 more volunteer hours by the time I apply to college
I will be in a foreign exchange program on a full scholarship in the Dominican Republic and I will have 45 more volunteers hours
I did DECA frosh year
Math team
Spanish club
Chem plus
And I work part time at a doctor office as a secretary and as his assistant.
Will I have a chance for Boston University, NYU, Lehigh university, and U of I? What schools do you think I have a shot at? Thanks in advance!
Yes, you can absolutely get intto NYU, BU and Lehigh. Get your ACT up and I think you will be fine. Since your GPA is a 4.2 that probaly means you took a bunch of honors/ap classes so the fact that you have a 3.44 is not too much of an issue. Otherwise, with a 30 on the act, you should be a match at all three. Not saying your in, but you have a great shot.
Which NYU college are you applying to? 3.44 is below NYU’s average GPA (3.7), and you ACT score is low as well. I would recommend attempting to boost your GPA a bit before you apply (at least 3.5) and to retake the ACT, aiming for a 30-33. Also, you have a lot of clubs listed, but with exception to Student Council, you don’t seem to have many leadership positions. If you do, specify those on your education. NYU is a fairly competitive school.
