<p>I’m a freshman thinking of applying to transfer from Bradley University to UIUC for their Spring 2014 semester.</p>
<p>My GPA is around 2.5 due to some health issues this semester (I had mono and was out for nearly 2 and a half months, basically January through mid-March), but I’m taking 18 hours this semester due to trying to declare into electrical engineering. I’m also going to be taking summer classes.</p>
<p>I volunteered a lot both in high school and I still volunteer now, and I’m also on my school’s fencing team.</p>
<p>My ACT score was 33 (they want ACT scores from freshman transfer applicants).</p>
<p>So my GPA is my greatest concern, but I do have a valid reason for that and I’ve been working overtime to bring things up but I don’t think I’ll be able to bring my GPA back to above 3.0 by the end of the semester, although I think I’ll manage it by the end of my summer classes, which is good because the application period for Spring 2014 transfer starts in September. I also have a stellar ACT score and good extra-curricular and volunteer background.</p>
<p>So, do you think I’d be able to manage it?</p>
