Can I get into UMW or CWM?

<p>I will be a senior next year. I live in VA, so I’m in state. I want to major in English/Journalism and attend either Mary Washinton or William and Mary. What do you think? Does anyone go to either of these schools?</p>

<p>I am in the Cambridge Programme, and will recieve an AICE Diploma. I take lots of AP classes, and have received 4s on both APUSH and English.</p>

<p>hey, i live in VA as well so i’m relatively familiar with both UMW and W&M. UMW is looking like a safe match for you, as your ACT is well about their mid-50% range and your ECs are good. your ACT is also decent for W&M, although your GPA is a little below their average. i’d say you have a good chance at W&M if you write some really good essays. are you looking to play volleyball in college? maybe you could get in contact with the coaches from both schools.</p>

<p>I have been in contact with the UMW coach, because UMW is a division 3 school. I don’t think I’ll be able to play for CWM though, because they are Division 1. Have you applied to either?</p>

<p>No, I haven’t applied (and probably won’t… I’m looking to go out of state). Lots of my just-graduated friends are going to UMW though, with a few to W&M. They all took SAT though, so I’m not sure how you match up against them, although I’m fairly confident that none of them could have gotten a 30 ACT.</p>
