I have decent grades, likely not enough to get into USC based on them alone… 3.5 weighted, 29 on ACT, varsity swimmer. However, my dad is close friends with Jerry Neely, someone who has been on the board of trustees for around 25 years. I was wondering if he could get me into the school. Thanks in advance
Maybe your dad could arrange an “informal” interview of sorts with that individual. If Jerry likes you, then hopefully you can get a strong recommendation letter which I’m sure will help your application.
I’m hoping you didn’t mean asking your dad to convince Jerry to pull some strings to get you in. I’m sure it happens everywhere, but it’s still a crappy thing to do, man. I’m sure your character can shine through without needing to fully depend on external forces.
@cardinal12 the answer is no. My niece applied with a 4.1/high stats, lots of EC’s and a letter of recommendation from a board member and was still denied. Your grades are too low.
