Can I get into Wayne State or Michigan State or possibly the University of Michigan with this?

Hey guys I was wondering if I have a chance of getting into the colleges above with:

a 3.2 GPA

1410 on the SAT (1440 superscored)

29 on the ACT

and being an IB diploma student- I’m one of six people in my 500 student class who are part of this rigorous course. I’m hoping that it carries some weight when it comes to college applications.

Extracurriculars include: 7 years of karate, running a clothing drive, 3 years of HOSA, yearbook, 2 years of link crew, 7 years of indian music, freelance writing for online publications, tutoring kids in the neighborhood, summer retail job

Probably Wayne and MSU. Very unlikely to UofM. Need to bring your GPA over 3.5 for UofM

Thank you! That’s actually really helpful because I’m shooting for MSU.

Is that weighted or unweighted GPA? I would redo the act also. “All” schools are getting tougher to get accepted to by the minute. Plus higher act could mean merit at some schools.

Also Michigan lsa avg is 3.88 with an instate think like 30-32 Act

My weighted GPA is around a 3.8 and yeah I’m planning to take the June ACT. I’m definitely not expecting Michigan though haha. But I’m hoping I can get into MSU or Wayne.

WSU for sure, and they should throw you a nice scholarship. Would also expect MSU is a slam dunk since last year they admitted nearly everyone who applied. Michigan? Very much a stretch.

Are you instate? Is your high school rural or in a deprived area?
UMichigan would be a big reach.
What’s your predicted IB score?

Apply early to Michigan state. This year has been different then last with them joining the common app. Applications have spiked let’s wait and see what the numbers look like

Ok, thank you!
