Can I Graduate Berkeley In 3 Years Instead Of Four For Premed?

I know berkeley is a hard school, but I want to graduate in three years instead of four in berkeley. Is it possible to do this and go to medical school in this method? If not, I should probably go somewhere else.

It’s a bad idea wherever you do it, as medical schools (1) don’t like this, as the acceleration is usually a bad sign and (2) means you are applying with much less of a track record, so they’re less sure about your academic capabilities.

^
so would it be better to stay an extra year? o.O

No. Stay in school for the standard amount of time. An extra year off, however, can be beneficial for both your character as well as your application, provided that you actually do something worthwhile.

I know a few people graduating in 3 years, but applying after their 3rd year and then taking, what would be their 4th year, off. I’m not sure how that is viewed by medical schools in general, but all I know is that I wouldn’t want to shorten the college experience.
