Is it possible to increase my horrible psat score of 855 to the 1200-1230 in time for the real sat? I’m taking my sat on May 2nd. Yea I know real soon. Although I am taking it again my senior year so I have more time to study, but a date isn’t set yet.
I don’t understand the 855 part. The max is 240.
@neatoburrito I converted my psat score to what I would’ve recieved on a scale of 1600.
So what’s with the 5 in the ones place? I’ll ignore it and say that it’s 850. I’ll also assume that it was roughly equal, say 42 on reading and 43 on math.
So you’re getting over half of the questions wrong. The incorrect answers cancel out some of your correct answers due to the wrong answer penalty of 1/4 point.
You’re answering too many questions. Go through a practice section and only answer the questions you are at least 75% sure are correct. Leave the others blank. This will give you the benefit of having more time per question. If you’re shooting for a 600 on each section, you need a raw score of 39 out of 56 for math and 49 our of 67 for reading. So you can skip roughly five maths per section and six reading, as long as you get the ones you answer correct.
