Can I just not pay application fee on one website but pay it in another?

For example I want to apply to Stony Brook and i applied through SUNY App but then not payed for the application and instead applied through Common App and paid. Will this affect anything?

Are you saying you applied to twice…

I’m guessing the one where you didn’t pay won’t be processed at all.

Someone here from NY can clarify.

@sybbie719 ?

You sent in two different applications to the same school?

I would contact the school, let them know what you did, and ask them how to address is. They will likely be quite confused.

I suspect they’ll just discard your unpaid application.

(You use both present tense, about doing something in the future, and past tense in your post. If you haven’t already done this, then don’t).

Sorry for my bad English, what I meant was that I did not pay for the application fee in applysuny and they have a notice on there that says “If you do not pay the application will not be processed or sent to your school”. This is fine with me. However the thing I’m worried about is if i apply to the same college and pay their fees on a different platform (I never want to use applysuny again) will it affect my application negatively? (them throwing both applications in the trash thinking i’m trying to game the system). I want to apply to the samecollege just on a different website. I hope that’s not too confusing.

I didnt apply twice technically because when I applied at applysuny i did not pay the application fee (hoping they would just ignore my application or smth) because they said that if I don’t pay the fee they will not process my application or send it to the college. Instead I want to go to the college’s website itself later this year and apply (and pay ofc). I just don’t want to use applysuny (found out the semester they were offering on their website (fall 2022) was not even on the actual college website itself yetso its just bs and my application would be a sad waste) also they were charging an extra 50$ when there is no application fee on the actual website.

Why are you over complicating this process? You can not apply directly through the school’s website: it is going to take you to the portal.

The cleanest and easiest way is to apply to SUNY using the SUNY application. Your application is sent to the university with in 24 hours. GC can just approve waivers on line, upload transcripts rankings etc. It is also easier to track your application for compketeness.

The common app actually takes a few days (because it is still going to the SUNY portal).

The easiest way to apply to CUNY using the CUNY appllication. IIRC, CUNY will no longer accept applications through the common app because of what you are doing.

There is no free application for the SUNY 4- year college. You either pay the fee, submit a fee waiver or your application is not processed.

The college website is going to offer the Common App or the ApplySUNY App. ApplySUNY is the official NYS
system wide application site that’s kind of like the common app for SUNY schools and $50 sounds about right for the application fee, but if you’d prefer to use the Common App you can do that.

Sorry if thats how it looked i’m actually going for a community college and I can apply on their website (don’t need applysuny for that) my only question was whether the unpaid application on applysuny would affect my other application that I sent using the website itself.

Sorry I was not clear with the way I explained stuff, probably should have mentioned this earlier I’m going to a community college and I can apply to them directly off their website. I was just wondering if this unpaid application on applysuny would affect my other application (the one I send straight from the university’s site)

Issa,
You stated in your opening post that you wanted to apply to Stony Brook, which is a 4 year SUNY school (not a community college).

If you are applying to a 4 year school, ylu must pay the fee. If you are applying to schools, which have both Bachelors and associalte programs; Morrisville, Canton, Cobbleskill, you must pay the fee (even if you are applying for an associates program).

regarding, whether you have to pay, it depends. The portal will hold your application until the fee is paid even if yuou applied directly to the school (they can hold the application). you must contact the school directly to have this corrected.

ok thank you

It is not about the fee, it is that I don’t want to apply from apply suny. I want to apply from the main website itself. They said that my application will not be “processed or sent to the school of my choice” if I do not pay. So I figured they could just ignore it and look at my other application that is complete and well done (but sent from another website). Do you mean they will hold both applications if I don’t pay for one? and the most important question Can this even be corrected in the first place?

She said…call the school and get this fixed!

right ,'D sorry
