<p>Your GPA and exam scores are good, but may not be good enough to get you the kind of financial aid that you will need in order to attend the schools you classify as safeties. For an institution to fully qualify as a safety, you have to be able to afford it without any aid other than federally determined (FAFSA) aid and/or guaranteed state aid (as a DC resident, don’t you get in-state tuition in MD?) and/or guaranteed merit-based aid from the college/university itself.</p>
