Can I not transfer my class?

I took a night class at a community college during my Junior year and it was very tough. I was loaded with tons of work from my daily classes and the night class. The night class was 3 hours long and it starts at 6 which I get off at my regular school at 3:30. It was extremely hard for me to keep up with everything so I passed the night class with a B. The night class will be transferable to the State University that I’m planning to matriculate but I don’t want to transfer a B because the GPA for that is a 3.0 . Is it okay to not transfer a class and start totally fresh?

You have to transfer all courses. Don’t be hard on yourself for getting a B. BTW, don’t make a move without using rate my professor.

You have to submit all college-level transcripts when you apply for admission. Whether any of the credits transfer is up to the college/university that you attend. Even if the course does transfer for credit, whether or not the grade for that class enters into GPA calculations depends on the receiving institution. So before you panic about the bad effect of one B on your overall academic record at that State U, find out first whether or not the grade is recorded and is used in your GPA calculation.

The above replies are correct. I transferred to a UC after a year at a foreign university and 2 years of community college, and my new school only took the transfer credits, not the GPA from either school. Many schools will only transfer your credit hours, not your actual GPA.

As others have already said, you have to provide transcripts for every college course you’ve taken. A B is not a bad grade. Don’t worry about it.
